Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game recaps,General by admin on Monday 30 January 2012 at 2:25 pm

35-year old power forward Antawn Jamison is still playing decent basketball for the Cavs and he is also mentoring rookie Tristan Thompson.  Jamison has played in 19 games (all starts) for the Cavs so far this year and he is averaging 30.5 minutes, 15.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  He is not shy about shooting despite not shooting that well.  Jamison is only shooting 40.3% from the floor, 38.4% from three point range and 62.3% from the free throw line so far this year.  Don’t look for him to shoot less any time soon though as Jamison and Kyrie Irving are the only two Cavs averaging more than 10 points per game so far this year.

Omri Casspi needs to toughen up for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Friday 27 January 2012 at 1:15 am

The Cleveland Cavaliers need 23-year old small forward Omri Casspi to toughen up a little bit.  He has played in 17 games (all starts) for the Cavs so far this year and he is averaging 21.4 minutes, 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  Casspi was supposed to add some long range firepower but he is only shooting 31% (13 for 42) from behind the three-point line so far this year.  If he doesn’t toughen up soon, he’s going to continue losing P.T. to 24-year old Alonzo Gee.  Gee has played in 17 games (0 starts) for the Cavs so far this year and he is averaging 25.5 minutes, 7.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game.  He is also shooting better than Casspi from long range as he has hit 11 of 31 (35.5%) three point shots so far this year.  Gee is pressing for more P.T. as he has played pretty well so far this year for the Cavs.
