I really expected the Cavs to come out flat last night but that didn’t happen.  They shot 52.2% from the floor last night and they left everything they had on the basketball court before falling just a tad short.  Ramon Sessions (24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists) and J.J. Hickson (20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists) led the way for the Cavaliers last night.  Anthony Parker (14 points), Baron Davis (11 points) and Alonzo Gee (10 points) also pitched in for the Cavs last night.  The Cavaliers are now 15-59 on the year.

The Cavaliers played their best game of the year, by far, as even owner Dan Gilbert was seen with a big smile tonight.  The Cavaliers shot 55.6% from the floor, 52.9% from three point range (9 of 17) and they outrebounded the Heat 44-30 tonight which gives you a few reasons for the impressive victory.  The Cavaliers outscored the Heat 27-20 in the 4th quarter to pull away for the biggest win in years!  J.J. Hickson (21 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) and Anthony Parker (20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists on 4 of 4 shooting from three-point range) led the way for the Cavaliers tonight.  Ryan Hollins played his best game of the year for the Cavaliers tonight.  He filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots in 36 minutes on the floor.  Hollins was an enforcer under the basket tonight as he was making big plays at both ends of the court.  Ramon Sessions (11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists) and Baron Davis (10 points, 7 assists and 1 steal) did an excellent job of running the offense for the Cavs tonight.  The Cavaliers are now 15-58 on the year, but at least they punked LeBron and his cronies tonight!

Hickson led the way for the Cavaliers yesterday with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.  Ramon Sessions (18 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists) and Samardo Samuels (17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot) also had solid games for the Cavs yesterday.  Daniel Gibson only shot 4 of 12 from the floor but he still finished up with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 28 minutes on the floor.  The Cavaliers are now 13-55 on the year.

The Cavaliers looked like they didn’t want to play last night.  They shot 35.6% from the floor and they only had 6 assists, which showed an utter lack of teamwork.  The Cavaliers were also outrebounded 45-29 and they allowed the Blazers to shoot 54.3% from the floor, so the scoreboard shouldn’t be much of  a shock.  Ramon Sessions led the way for the Cavs last night with 14 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists and 1 steal.  Daniel Gibson finished up with 12 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists and 1 steal last night.  Manny Harris was the one guy that came to play for the Cavs last night.  Harris had 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in only 19 minutes on the floor.  The Cavaliers are now 13-54 on the year.

The new guys have been so/so for the Cleveland Cavaliers so far

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,Steppin Up by admin on Monday 14 March 2011 at 10:22 pm

The three guys the Cavaliers acquired (Baron Davis, Luke Harangody and Semih Erden) have been so-so since coming over in trade deadline deals a couple of weeks ago.  31-year old point guard Baron Davis has been very solid when he’s been on the court for the Cavs so far.  He has played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Cavaliers and he is averaging 28.3 minutes, 18.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game.  He is shooting 47.5% from the floor overall but he is 10 of 18 (55.6%) from three point range.  He is missing time right now to attend his grandmother’s funeral but he should be back later this week.  23-year old forward Luke Harangody has been up and down for the Cavs so far.  He has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Cavaliers and he is averaging 15.8 minutes, 6.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game but he is only shooting 34.6% from the floor so far.  24-year old center Semih Erden has been banged up since becoming a Cavalier.  He has only played in 1 game in which he was on the court for 11 scoreless minutes in which he had 5 rebounds and 1 blocked shot.  The Cavaliers are going to be depending on all three of these guys the rest of this season and in the near future.
