Mo Williams also had a solid game with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Shaquille O’Neal had one of his better games of the year for the Cavs last night with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in only 22 minutes. The Cavaliers are now 24-8 on the year.

Delonte West is stepping up for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  In his last 5 games (all off the bench), West has averaged 25.0 minutes, 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game.  West is also shooting 60% from the floor over his last five games as he has really been a weapon lately for the Cavs.  West has now played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Cavs this season and he is averaging 21.6 minutes, 7.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  The Cavaliers really need West to keep playing well as he was such a big part of the team last year.

The Cavaliers outscored the pesky Kings 13-0 in overtime thanks to big Z who dropped 8 points including 2 3-pointers in O.T. LeBron James led the way for the Cavs last night with 34 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists last night. Mo Williams actually went into the locker-room hurt early in the game but he came back and played 40 minutes in which he scored 27 points, grabbed 1 rebound and he dished out 3 assists. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had by far his best game of the year for the Cavs last night as he finished up with 25 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in only 26 minutes on the floor. The Cavaliers are now 22-8 on the year.

Anthony Parker has been shooting great for the Cleveland Cavaliers but…..

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 22 December 2009 at 1:48 pm

When Anthony Parker signed with the Cavs he was slotted to back-up Delonte West but he was forced into the starting line-up due to West’s off the court problems. He has responded by playing in 29 games (all starts) for the Cavs this season and he is averaging 28.7 minutes, 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Those are not great numbers for a starting shooting guard in the NBA, but, he has been a deadeye from three point range hitting 50% from behind the arc. Still, Parker better pick up his game if he wants to stay in the starting line-up because Delonte West is starting to get his act together lately off the bench for the Cavs.
