Wally Szczerbiak only shot 3 of 13 from the floor and he finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. The Cavaliers are now 32-26 on the season.

The Cavs shot 51.9% from the floor and they outrebounded the Grizzlies 46-33 which explains the final score. LeBron James led the way for the Cavs with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals. Big Z had a good game as he finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Joe Smith was solid off the bench in his Cavs debut as he finished up with 14 points and 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. Ben Wallace played outstanding defense and surprisingly well on offense as he finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals. Wally Szczerbiak (10 points) and Delonte West (5 points, 6 assists and 3 steals) looked a little off with their shots but they still contributed to the victory. The Cavaliers only dressed 8 players last night including two of which who were called up from the D-League earlier in the day. The reason for this is that the 4 players the Cavs acquired in the big trade on Thursday weren’t eligible to play yet. The Cavaliers did outrebound the Wizards 43-31 last night and it was a huge factor in the win. LeBron James led the way for the Cavaliers with 33 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. He also hit the game winning free throws at the end of the game. Damon Jones really stepped up as he had his best game in years. He scored 27 points and had 4 assists in 44 minutes. Jones also hit 7 of 11 3-point shots. Devin Brown also made the most of a rare start for the Cavs as he finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals in 43 minutes. The Cavs are now 31-24 on the season.

Daniel Gibson to miss the next 4-6 weeks for the Cleveland Cavaliers

2nd year point guard Daniel Gibson will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a severely sprained left ankle. Gibson has played in 48 games (26 starts) for the Cavs this season and he is averaging 31.9 minutes, 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Gibson is probably the best pure shooter on the Cavs as he is hitting 45.7% of his shots from the floor, 47.6% of his three point attempts and 80.7% of his free throws. Look for Delonte West and Damon Jones to replace Gibson in the Cavs lineup. Jones has played in 46 games (0 starts) this season for the Cavs and he is averaging 19.4 minutes, 5.9 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.5 assists per game. Jones’ main skill is shooting three pointers as he’s hit 41.4% from long range this season.
