The Cavs shot lousy earlier today (36%) and that’s the biggest reason they lost. LeBron James had a great game with 29 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Larry Hughes had a rough shooting night (6 of 17) and he wound up with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

Larry Hughes had a solid game with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Anderson Varejao got to start tonight as Zydrunas Ilgauskas is away from the team dealing with a sickness in his family. Varejao made the game-winning shot when he dunked a ball over Chris Bosh with 16 seconds left in the game. Varejao had an awesome all-around game with 16 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James was very solid on offense tonight with 29 points and 4 rebounds. Larry Hughes only shot 6 of 18 from the floor, but he still wound up with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Cavaliers look to roll in the second half

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 9:08 pm

The Cavaliers finished the first half with a 31-22 record and are only 2 games behind the Pistons for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs really need a point guard badly and are looking to trade for one. Mike Bibby, Jason Kidd and Andre Miller are just three of the names the Cavs are considering making a move for. If they get any one of those guys they can win the NBA Championship this season! LeBron James’ numbers would sky rocket with a real point guard as he could make a second half run at the MVP award. The Cavs still need to quit shooting so many outside jumpers and take advantage of their size. Look for them to change their offensive scheme in the 2nd half of the season and get the ball into the paint.

The Cavs lose a heartbreaker 99-98 to the Jazz in Utah

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 15 February 2007 at 1:29 pm

The Cavs outrebounded the Jazz 49-37 last night but that didn’t matter as they fell just a tad short. Larry Hughes led the way for the Cavs with 33 points. LeBron James had a tough shooting night (9 of 25 from the floor) but he still wound up with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Drew Gooden had a solid game in the paint with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Anderson Varejao got a rare start last night and he was solid with 9 points and 17 rebounds.

The Cavs fell to 30-22 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270214026

David Wesley is looking like he’s toast

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 4:07 pm

The Cavaliers were expecting Wesley to provide decent minutes off the bench behind Larry Hughes but he’s been awful this season and now he’s buried on the bench. He has played in only 27 games this season and has averaged 11.1 minutes, 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He’s also only hitting 29.7% from the floor this season which has really hurt the Cavs when he’s on the floor. Look for him to continue being buried on the bench as Sasha Pavlovic has taken over his old job.

It’s never as good as it seems in Cleveland!

Blogged under Big Cavaliers News,Bloglockers,Front Page by squarebettor on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 3:36 pm

Sure, it seems like everything is going great for the Cavs right now, but it always seems like things are going great right before they fall apart in this city. Woohoo, the Cavs beat the Heat and the Lakers recently, but we all know how it ends.
