Shooting Guards

The Cavs have really built up their depth behind Larry Hughes, but they hope Hughes will stay healthy and productive. Hughes gives the Cavs a legit #2 scorer and an elite defensive guard, but he missed more than 1/2 of last season with a broken finger. Most of Hughes offense is on drives to the basket and he doesn’t have 3-point range. Hughes has averaged 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game over his career.

The Cavs signed veteran guard David Wesley to back-up Hughes. Wesley is a good shooter and decent passer, who will extend the opponents defense as he hits 37.0% of his 3-pointers. Wesley has career averages of 12.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Sasha Pavlovic is a good player, but he’s buried on the bench for the Cavs. Pavlovic is a good shooter and is very athletic. For his career, Pavlovic has averaged 4.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.

The Cavs first round pick of this season, Shannon Brown could have a hard time getting off of the bench because of the Cavs very deep roster.
